Vynka Hallam was raised in a true creative environment; her great grandmother was an artist and opera singer, and her mother has always been a very creative person. She is a self-taught artist, encouraged to follow her creative pursuits, she began drawing in charcoal at a young age.

Her work celebrates a quality which exaggerates colour and perspectives, intentionally exposing brush marks and paint drips to show signs of the hand made and contribute to the visual environment of her works. Vynka loves to capture light and subjects from unusual perspectives, believing there is an honesty in the imperfect.

Originally from Perth, together with her husband she has been performing volunteer work for the past 10 years in countries such as Papua New Guinea, Myanmar, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Solomon Islands and the Philippines.

Her subjects are a diverse fusion reflective of her personal travels and experiences along with memories and encounters with the special individuals met along the way. In moments that inspire, Vynka endeavours to capture these moments and translate them into art so that her audience can experience it as well.

Her artworks resonate with the insinuated natural beauty of experience and place, they also echo her affection and gratitude to the fundamentals of art in its entirety.
Vynka's greatest joy is to see others connect and celebrate the little bit of satire and originality that is reflective in each piece. She hopes that her audience gains as much enjoyment from her works as she gains from the creative process.
