Founded in 2014, the first Canvas Collection was featured in esteemed publications including Vogue Italia.
Toyan’s designs seek to encourage and uplift women and young girls who struggle with insecurities and self-confidence by highlighting positive messages through design that influence all females to embrace and celebrate who they are.
Toyan started the label to celebrate culture, individuality, creativity and self-confidence.
Today, it is an established British fashion house.

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOURSELF AND YOUR WORK?
I am an independent young designer, my mission is to consciously encourage and uplift women through my label. I believe fashion is a choice, we are all free to be who we are and our clothing should be worn without worrying about what others may think of us. That also goes for the confidence and love that I have towards myself and the passion I carry to encourage others to also have.
My brand projects bold, imaginative and elegant clothing that uplifts women through collections that share stories and highlights positive messages to empower and influence females to embrace and celebrate who they are, to believe fashion. Our clothing should be worn without worrying about what others may think of us.
WHAT ARE YOUR INSIGHTS INTO THE INDUSTRY RIGHT NOW?
I want to bridge a gap when it comes to collaborations and opportunities. I launched my label just before I started my degree in fashion design. Across the years, I had several conversations with both graduates and undergraduates. One of the main issues that I can certainly relate to, and identify with, is the lack of experience and skills when learning to prepare for the industry.
As an emerging brand, I am growing towards a small team of young creatives and entrepreneurs who have the same aesthetics as Lonseluet. My aim is not only for Lonseluet to be recognised for its designs, but for the brand to create opportunities for other creatives.
WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO EMERGING DESIGNERS?
The biggest inspiration for creating should be with purpose. As creative designers and artists, we tend to see things differently. There are so many things to take from the people, places and objects that surround us on a daily bases to inspire us towards our creativity. With that being said, whatever it is that you decide to put forward, do it with confidence.
There' s nothing more uplifting than knowing you are unapologetically you. Expect and accept the challenges that will arise when choosing to make your dreams your own reality. The process will strengthen your character and most importantly the work you create.
