ABOUT

SOFIA MARIA is a jewellery design studio with an intimate focus on craftsmanship and fine metals. Inspired by a deep appreciation of organic lines, natural textures and imperfect forms, Sofia works only with locally sourced recycled materials in her Manly Beach studio in Sydney, Australia.

Her curated collection of handcrafted pieces are one of a kind strongly influenced by the Japanese philosophy, wabi sabi, a concept derived from the buddhist teaching centred on acceptance and admiration for something that is imperfect, finding beauty in its imperfection.

We spoke to Sofia about establishing her jewellery design studio in Australia, her inspiration from Japan, Australia and her home country, Argentina and her commitment to only using local, recycled materials in every crafted piece. Read more here.
