NIKITA MILLER is a new minimalist, Melbourne-based womenswear label, headed by husband and wife team Nikita Miller and Omar Asadi. Designed mindfully with quality and sustainability core to their designs, each beautifully structured garment is unique and made to last.
Designer Nikita Miller was born in Cape Town, South Africa and moved to Auckland in 2009 where she met husband Omar, who’s family had immigrated to New Zealand from Baghdad, Iraq. The couple moved to Melbourne in 2014, and their independent label was a borne in 2017.
The NIKITA MILLER Part One Collection is made-to-order and features simple, structured staples reflective of Japanese inspired design. In line with their commitment to quality and sustainability, the label’s garments are carefully crafted using cottons, silks, wool and linen blends, with most of the fabric used being dead-stock from Melbourne and Auckland.
Nikita and Omar love to experiment with the movement of fabric - how it absorbs and carries light in its purest form and fluidity. These elements are integral to their design thinking and process.
As an independent made-to-order label, each design is deliberately produced in small quantities allowing for local manufacturing and sourcing of quality fabrics and finishes. Their label ethos means that the duo have flexibility with seasonal launches, ensuring that the focus remains on the longevity and quality of each garment.
Each NIKITA MILLER piece is mindfully designed to be truly unique, giving focus on quality and functional form, and carefully crafted to last.
