What is World Environment Day? World Environment Day is celebrated on June 5th every year, and is the United Nations' principal vehicle for encouraging awareness and action for the protection of our environment.

This year's theme is biodiversity–a concern that is both urgent and existential. Recent events, from bushfires in Brazil, the United States and Australia to locust infestations across East Africa–and now, a global disease pandemic–demonstrate the interdependence of humans and the webs of life in which they exist.

Their donations will go toward planting trees in Australia to help restore the beautiful landscape that was destroyed following the bushfires which burnt nearly 6 million hectares (15 million acres) of bush as of January 2020.
