Describe yourself and your designs?

My name is Chloe Kim and I’m the Head Designer of ChloeKim. We are a new brand, established this year (2019), but it has been an exciting start to shaping our label including featuring our SS19 collection in Paris Fashion Week.

I have participated in fashion projects and shows previously, but the projects have been quite diverse ranging from window displays to fashion exhibitions, and a fashion showcase. I believe this is because my work has a unique style.

WHO IS THE CHLOE KIM WOMAN?

ChloeKim represents a graceful and powerful woman, but innocence is the most important thing to represent her beauty. 

What inspires YOUR DESIGNS?

I am inspired by stories so my collection always has a strong story behind it.  The story could be involving love or from a novel - it is diverse and really depends on what events have happened in my life and my experiences at the time I am shaping the collection. Everyday, I am inspired by the arts - museums, novels, and films. But these days I am very focussed on environmental issues.

TELL US YOUR STORY. HOW DID IT ALL BEGIN?

I was an ordinary kid who loved dressing-up and shopping near by the beach called Fremantle in Perth. Shopping at a local designer’s shop was a really fun for me at that time, and it naturally exposed and immersed me into the world of fashion, in particular I developed a love for unique and exotic styles. I began to design pieces and of course, found out that I totally loved it. I guess it all happened by doing what I truly enjoyed and loved!

WhAT DRIVES YOUR DESIGNS TODAY?

I want to be a fashion designer, with a unique style and a story that can present my ideal women and give a good influence to the world.

WHAT DO YOU LOVE MOST ABOUT YOUR WORK?

I love it when people ask me about my work and they show interest - I feel very thankful to be doing something I am so passionate about and love to do every day.

My team are supportive. I am thankful that I can work with great people and they are the greatest asset of my business.

Who are you collaborating with right now?

I am currently collaborating with an influencer from Indonesia. In the future, I want to collaborate with influencers all over the world even including Australia. Also, with organisations that support environmental issues.
